It follows the journey many children are forced to make when their families have to flee their homes in search of safety. Alice, by Layla Jabbari, has been long-listed for the prestigious World Illustration Award 2023. This exhibition is its gallery world premiere! As a compelling re-imagining of Lewis Carroll’s iconic character, Alice reveals the brutal hostility of the government’s ‘hostile environment’ for refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. For Refugee Week’s 25th anniversary you are invited to celebrate what compassion looks like in action. Together we can create a shared understanding of compassion to ensure we are extending it widely to all.
